	Cultural Exchanges for 2012
	The Duke lies within the boundaries of 2012 Olympic Borough Greenwich which has for many years, been twinned with Maribor in Slovenia, recently nominated European Capital of Culture 2012. We are proud to demonstrate our commitment to this important cultural exchange by announcing a pub twinning partnership between The Duke and the Športni Pikado Klub Mica in Maribor.
	Owned by Mica (pronounced 'meet - zah') the bar is nestled amongst farms and vineyards in the hills above this beautiful city on the river Drava. Spritzer made with young local wine is the most popular drink at a most reasonable 5 Euros per litre. We envisage many cultural exchanges in the years building up to 2012 and beyond and all members of the Mica Bar/Duke Twinning Association are entitled to the benefits of our association.
			The partnership was agreed, over a spritzer, between club owner Mica and partner, founding club member Vladimir Rukavina (director of the Slovenian National Theatre and the Lent festival as well as head of the secretariat preparing Maribor for its stint as the European Capital of Culture 2012) and Michael Richards club member since 2003 and now proprietor of The Duke in Deptford.
